Sin embargo, en regiones donde la minería no fue una actividad central el desarrollo de los circuitos regionales, más bien, dependió del aumento continuo de producciones agrícolas, ganaderas y sus derivados, así como de la efectividad de su comercialización /  Una amplia circulación de mercancías derivadas de la actividad agropecuaria caracterizó durante la época colonial al corregimiento de Lambayeque, también conocido con el nombre de Saña, circunscripción ubicada en la costa norte del virreinato peruano entre las ciudades de Piura y Trujillo. En el desarrollo mercantil de este amplio espacio geográfico tuvieron un rol fundamental los hacendados y comerciantes criollos, sector ampliamente estudiado a través de numerosos trabajos por Susan Ramírez. Pero también los indígenas que vivían en comunidades asentadas en las costas lambayecanas tuvieron una participación clave en el desarrollo mercantil de esta región...</text>
