                <text>La riqueza de  alimentos de la Amazonía peruana, es resultado de la adaptación del hombre a su medio ambiente.  En la selva siempre fue importante el consumo de carne de monte, pescado de río,  y vegetales como la yuca, maíz, maní, frijoles y plátanos de huerto.  La  bebida del Masato [de yuca fermentada] y  el pan amazónico de mandioca o "yuca brava", que llaman Casabe, son parte sustancial de esta dieta. La evidencia arqueológica de los alimentos y su preparación no se han encontrado, sólo se han rescatado algunos instrumentos, objetos y formas de las vajillas de comida.  Los arqueólogos abordan cada vez más,  la relación entre la agricultura y el sedentarismo, para el desarrollo de sociedades complejas, recién atisbadas en un vasto  arqueológico, poco explorado. La etnohistoria habla de pueblos muy grandes con mucha comida; en las referencias etnográficas se halla el mito de origen del juego y los alimentos.  Actualmente  los pueblos nativos practican una riqueza culinaria que es el resultado del largo proceso hacia la agricultura y el sedentarismo y  a la posterior influencia andino-quechua y europea.</text>
