Title A name given to the resource Aportes a la comprensión y prevención del suicidio en población indígena : Una revisión sistemática narrativa Description An account of the resource En el objetivo de aportar datos para la comprensión del suicidio de personas indígenas, se hizo una revisión sistemática narrativa de documentos científicos publicados entre los años 2010 y 2021 en Science Direct, Medline, Dialnet y Scielo. Se ubicaron 63 artículos y documentos institucionales, de los cuales se eligieron 42 que cumplían con los requisitos de inclusión. Los resultados indican que existe alta vulnerabilidad y riesgo suicida en varones aborígenes de diversos países en el mundo. Se sugiere el diseño de programas de prevención y de búsqueda del bienestar integral, así como intervenciones interdisciplinarias que involucren tradiciones, creencias propias, saberes culturales y condiciones sociales. Finalmente, se reconoce que es necesario efectuar nuevas investigaciones conducidas por equipos conformados por personal indígena. Mujer huaorani de la Amazonía ecuatoriana Description An account of the resource Una de las consecuencias del contacto con los huaorani, realizado recién a finales de los años 50, ha sido el suicidio. Y desde inicios del siglo XXI ha ido creciendo de forma alarmante. Este es un estudio de caso de Epaa, mujer de 28 años, que inesperadamente y sin aparentes motivos se quitó la vida, dejando tras de sí numerosas incógnitas. Este trabajo etnográfico ofrece una breve aproximación al suicidio huaorani en el área de Toñampari, para seguidamente abordar dos objetivos centrales: 1. describir con detalle el suicidio de Epaa , y 2) reflexionar sobre los factores profundos que ayuden a entender el comportamiento de la protagonista. En las conclusiones se destaca el sentido práctico del chamanismo como explicación, y la posible influencia de la palabra como elemento de contagio.
